Orlando Pirates suffer 6th loss this season

Orlando Pirates suffered their sixth loss of the season when they narrowly lost 1-0 to TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Sunday afternoon.

Pirates are still fourth on the log with only two matches remaining this season, still trailing second placed AmaZulu FC by four points.

The win increased Galaxy’s chances of finishing in the top eight bracket.

Masilake Phohlongo scored the only goal of the match in the opening three minutes of the encounter.

Pirates who were already trailing were dealt a major blow when Abel Mabaso got a red card in the 30th minute after a second bookable offence. But Galaxy were also reduced to 10 men after their captain Given Msimango also got a red card for a second bookable offence before the end of the first half.

Pirates did everything to find the equaliser in the second half but TS Galaxy keeper Marlon Heugh made two brilliant saves to deny Bucs.
